Life is too short to spend time on the boring stuff

Try this super easy floating shelf hack for an adorable
way to showcase your favorite books!

When my oldest daughter moved out for good , we cleaned out her closet and donated old books, clothes and accessories that she no longer needed or wanted. Books have always been a love of hers and there were a few in particular that she couldn’t part with; her “comfort books” that she would read and reread throughout her childhood and teen years. We decided to make those childhood favorites part of the decor of her revamped bedroom that would serve as her room when she visited, and a guest room when one was needed. The result was a sweet and aesthetic tribute to her old favorites!

Supplies: Wooden dish rack (LINK HERE), A screw, your favorite books Directions: Hang the dish rack vertically from a screw centered on the top wooden dowel. Insert books. That’s it!

Hang a Keyhole Picture with Ease

I have been doing this for years and it works every time. I cannot be bothered to measure or do anything that involves math….God no. This hack requires nothing but painter’s tape, a marker and a drill
(and a level if you want to be sure it is straight).

If I can do it, you can do it, trust me.

7 Easy Steps

  1. Stretch painter’s tape from one keyhole opening to the other.

  2. Gently press your finger down on the hole to make a small impression on the tape. This is where the screw will be going.

  3. Use a marker to color a large dot onto the impression you made over the hole.

  4. Peel the tape off and put it on the wall where you would like your picture or shelf to hang.

  5. Use a level to make sure that your tape is straight and not higher on one side than the other.

  6. Drill your screws into the wall right over the dots you drew on the tape.

  7. Peel tape off the wall and hang your piece! Simple!

Needle Felting Hack

It may be cheating, but boy is it fun to look at the potential of the simple, inexpensive dryer ball! Using a felting needle and some imagination, what can you create!?

Tip: Make sure your needle is not too fine. Some dryer balls will be firmer than others so your needle may break if you push too hard.

Tired of your Brown Sugar turning Rock Solid?

Try this quick easy hack that was passed down from my Great Aunt Mary, whose brownies will live on in my memory as the pinnacle of baking perfection!

Tear a piece of bread in half - any kind will do - and place it in the brown sugar bag. Seal the bag in an airtight container. The bread will absorb any moisture, leaving the sugar soft and pliable. If you notice the bread has hardened before the sugar is gone, simply replace it with another piece of torn bread. You will never find hardened, crunchy
brown sugar in your pantry
if you give this a try!
